Certified Translation of Degrees and Academic Transcripts — French ↔ English

Academic expertise meets sworn legal status

Recognition of a foreign degree in France — or a French degree abroad — almost always requires a certified translation produced by a sworn translator. David Ameisen, a sworn translator and holder of a PhD from Université Paris Cité, combines rare academic expertise with official sworn status to produce translations accepted by ENIC-NARIC, French universities, and professional licensing bodies.

His dual background — academic research in France and the United States — gives him an unusually precise command of the terminology used across disciplines, from sciences to humanities to law.

Frequently asked questions

Is my US degree automatically recognized in France?
Not automatically. Most regulated professions require formal recognition through ENIC-NARIC in addition to the certified translation. The translation is a necessary condition, but not sufficient on its own.
Is a scan of my diploma sufficient?
Yes, a high-resolution scan is sufficient to produce the translation. The receiving body may require the original diploma — not the translator.
Do I need to translate the transcript as well as the diploma?
Yes, in the vast majority of cases, equivalence bodies and universities require translation of both the diploma and the full transcript.
